Dr. Yoyo S.S., M.A.

Dr. Yoyo, S.S., M.A., is a full-time lecturer at the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD). || Previous Position: Head Department of Arabic Language and Literature (2018-2022) Current Position: Vice Dean II of Islamic Studies Faculty || Education and Qualifications: 2000-2004 B.A Degree in Arabic Literature, Faculty of Letters, The State University for Islamic Studies, Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta (with cum laude). || 2005-2008 M.A. Degree in Cross Culture and Religion (Concentration: Middle Eastern Studies), Graduate School, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta (with cum laude). || 2008-2014 Doctoral Degree in Cross Culture and Religion (Concentration: Middle Eastern Studies), Graduate School, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta (with merit). || 2007 Student Exchange, Suez Canal University, Egypt (six months). || 2011 Visiting doctoral student at King's College London, United Kingdom (four months), under the supervision of Dr. Carool Kersten (expert and reader of Muslim World). || Experience Summary: Almost seven years in academic activities (teaching, thesis supervision, curriculum development, and administration) at the Middle Eastern Studies, Graduate School, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in the study of Arab Sociology, Modern Arab Thought, Political Language of Islam, and Advanced Religion. || Four years (2010-2014) as a part-time lecturer at the Department of Arabic Literature, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), on Arabic Conversation, Middle Eastern Sociology, and Modern Arab Thought. || 2018 as a part-time lecturer in the Master's Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga. || Research Interests: Islamic Studies, Arabic language and culture, Arab Thought, Language and Politics, Socio-political issues in the Arab and Muslim World.
